#Korea’s first Vice Foreign Minister to Attend Strategic Dialogue with #Indonesia and Vice Foreign Ministerial Meeting with #Timor-Leste

1. First Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam, together with his Indonesian counterpart Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir, will hold the first Republic of Korea-Indonesia strategic dialogue in Jakarta, Indonesia, on February 6.

° The strategic dialogue will come pursuant to the agreement reached between the leaders of the two countries during President Jokowi’s state visit to the ROK in May 2016 to establish a vice-ministerial strategic dialogue mechanism. In the strategic dialogue, the two ranking diplomats will review the progress in the implementation of the follow-up on the bilateral summit talks and discuss ways to work more closely together across the board.

2. Vice Minister Lim will then visit Timor-Leste and hold a meeting with Vice Foreign Minister Roberto Soares of Timor-Leste on February 7.

° With the year 2017 marking the 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the ROK and Timor-Leste, the first visit to Timor-Leste by a high-level official of the ROK Foreign Ministry since the establishment of diplomatic ties is expected to contribute greatly to the development of the bilateral relationship.
